## Backlog

Work that is ready to be considered but is not using an active request lane. Keep future work prepared here.

## Active

Work currently using design capacity. Your plan controls how many requests can be Active at once.

## Needs Input

The next useful move belongs to your team. Open the request, answer the question, attach the missing material, or confirm a direction before returning it to Active.

## Done

The requested outcome has been delivered and accepted. The request stays available as context for later work.

## Choose the status by the next owner

Use Backlog when the work is prepared but not started, Active when design capacity is being used, Needs Input when your team must answer or supply something, and Done when delivery has been accepted. Status should describe the next useful action, not how important the request feels.

## Moving into Active can be blocked

The board, restored requests, and Slack all enforce the same Active Request limit. If capacity is full, finish or move another Active request, answer work in Needs Input, or ask an Admin to review available capacity in Billing.

### Why can I not move another request to Active?

All active lanes are in use. Move finished work to Done, answer work in Needs Input, or add active capacity from Billing.

### Who should act when a request is in Needs Input?

### Which status should I choose when feedback is needed?

Use Needs Input when your team owns the next answer or approval. Keep the request Active when the designer can continue without that decision, and use Done only when the requested outcome is complete.
