01

Display modes

  • Inline: a compact link chip inside the sentence
  • URL: the plain destination address
  • Card: a richer preview with title and context
  • Embed: an interactive frame when the site allows it
02

Change the default

Open Settings, then Links, to choose the default display. Site exceptions let one domain use a different mode from the rest.

03

Choose the display that matches the job

  • Inline: keep a link inside the sentence without a large preview
  • URL: show the destination plainly when the address itself matters
  • Card: give the destination a more visible title and preview
  • Embed: interact with a supported external page inside the request
04

Use site exceptions

Set one personal default, then add a site-specific choice for domains that need different treatment. A Figma or Loom link may be useful as an embed, while a sensitive admin page is safer and clearer as a normal URL.

05

When an embed cannot load

The destination controls whether it can be framed. Sign-in requirements, sharing permissions, browser privacy settings, or the site's own security headers can make PIWOT℗ fall back to a card or link. Test the destination in a private browser window when teammates cannot open it.
